To be of service.

This was the main lesson I heard when I first got sober.

I was still caught up in my ego and I decided that I would be of service and people would think I was a great person and everyone would love me.

However, when I did not get the recognition, I thought I deserved I became resentful. That led to guilt which I always turned into shame.

Over these many years I have come to appreciate the opportunities to be of service and the motivation of being of service is to enjoy the feeling of appreciation.

It is a cycle of appreciation. When I focus on how much I appreciate the opportunities to be of service the more I get to appreciate.

The more I find to appreciate the more things I draw to myself to appreciate.

I love how I feel when I am living in appreciation.

May each of you allow yourself the gift of appreciation.

You are Love and Loved.
