The others

I am reminded to maintain my gratitude for all the others who help me along this path.

When I first got sober, there were the police, ambulance EMTs, the nurses and doctors, and the staff of the mental health ward.

Then there was my wife at the time, my family, friends, and especially the AA community in my area.

Through the years my progress ebbed and flowed yet the Creator always brought me who and what I needed.

Most of the time it was a kindness from another person.

Other times, when I was a bit thick, it was a 2×4 to the ego to bring me down enough to find a willingness to learn.

In my darkest times I was allowed to reach out and connect with another being who gave me their experiences through words and actions and from these I gleaned strength and hope.

Even today I get to learn from the lives of those around me. Sometimes I find a new perspective which I choose to use to view life.

Other times it is an example of how I do not prefer to experience life.

Either way I get to learn and to expand my own awareness.

Today I choose to be of service through sharing my insights in hopes that others may find what they need to make the changes they desire.

All for the opportunity for each of us to live happy, joyous, and free.

You are Loved.
