Mature and reasonable

This morning’s meditation.

Mature and reasonable.

These are not attributes I possessed until I became willing.

I had a long history of emotional immaturity.

I mean I did grow up, held, jobs, built a career, had and raised kids, paid my bills, and took care of all of my adult responsibilities.

And I could still act out as a child in certain areas of my life.

Most of my acting out was completely logical to me in my mind, as crazy as it was, I still believed it made sense.

Until I was found out and my behaviors hurt all the people, I said I loved.

It was then I became willing to change.

Through therapy, increased AA and Al-anon meetings and yet another moral inventory I got honest and discovered what beliefs I held about myself which needed to change.

Over the years I have changed my beliefs about myself and I have matured emotionally.

I am happier, more content, peaceful, and I appreciate life as it is today.

I am mature and my reactions to life have become reasonable.

I no longer hurt other people, especially the ones I love.

May each of you allow yourself the willingness to change.

You are Loved.
