Forgiveness

This morning’s meditation.

Forgiveness

I am reminded to live in acceptance and appreciation for all beings.

I have found this difficult to do when the other being has done a behavior which has hurt me or a loved one.

I have an old reaction of getting revenge, yet I am aware how I have lived in ways that have hurt me and the ones I love.

Ironically, it was the consequence of hurting the ones I love and feeling so deeply hurt and embarrassed that I acted as I did that created a desire to change.

I needed to get to the root of my reactions to life.

When I did a deep dive into myself, I found fear, shame, guilt, worthlessness.

As I have worked long and hard to replace these with self-worth, confidence, compassion, understanding, empathy, kindness, acceptance, appreciation, and peace; I have found self-respect, and a respect for others.

I can now honor the struggles others experience without making their behaviors okay in my life.

I can love the being without supporting their destructive behaviors.

As my consequences brought me a desire to change, others need their consequences for the same reason.

May each of you allow yourself the gift of finding your forgiveness.

You are loved.
