The author indicated that God could not help anyone who is dependent on a crutch such as alcohol.
I used to believe this statement and used that belief as a motivator for staying sober because I wanted God to help me.
However, as I have grown along, I have seen how limiting that belief was for me in my relationship to the Divine.
There are no conditions on the wisdom and help we can receive.
My motivations behind receiving help dictated the level of success I had with the help I received.
God will support me in any decision I make. That’s called free will and unconditional support.
Even during my overuse of sex, food, caffeine, sugar, and nicotine, God Loves and supports me.
Even when my drinking drove me crazy, I was allowed to make that decision as well.
I have been working on a deeper understanding of the Divin and my connection to it for over 30 years and I have been supported by God every set of the way.
May each of you allow yourself the gift of gaining a deeper understanding of the Divine.
