I have come to discover how the motivation behind being helpful dictates the outcome for me.
I have had times when I tried to be helpful so others would tell me how nice I was and praise my efforts. Other times I would try to be helpful to impress a young lady I found attractive or to impress other guys I thought I needed to be better than.
None of those efforts ended with any long-term effect. Today I choose to begin my day with the intentions of meeting every experience with compassion, empathy, acceptance, kindness, appreciation, understanding, Love and peace.
My only motivation is to be in alignment with God, and it’s will for my life.
The effects are motivating in and of themselves. I love how I feel when I am authentic and that feeling brings me more desire to live out my kindness in every aspect of my life.
I have found being helpful includes simply saying good morning to people I encounter.
May each of you allow yourself the gift of finding your true motivation for being helpful.
You are Love and Loved.
