I am reminded that maturity actually begins with spirituality.
I used to believe that the number of sex partners I had made me all grown up.
Or the number on my paystub made me mature, or the number of houses I have owned made me a man, I put so much emphasis on my instincts for intimacy, shelter, money, success that I lost site of the first part of being mature.
Being spiritually fit prior to any other aspect of my life brings me into true maturity.
Allowing myself the opportunity to discover my connection to God and participating in that relationship first brings about the emotional, physical, and mental maturity.
For me a daily practice of affirmations, statements of appreciation, acceptance of self and others, and meditation brings me into alignment with God’s will.
Allowing myself forgiveness of self and others frees me to focus on my connection to God.
I get to see the Divine in and around every being and I practice gratitude for my life today.
May each of you allow yourself the gift of maturity.
You are Love and Loved.
