Motivation.

I had been an addictions counselor for many years, and I heard so many reasons for getting clean and sober.

My experience has been that any reason for getting clean and sober other than your own happiness would fail.

So many people wanted to get sober for their spouse, kids, parents, job, and any other reason you can think of.

Yet the ones who had become so desperate to just be sober for their own sake were the most successful at long term recovery.

I have come to discover it is the same way with being happy.

My happiness needs to be rooted in me and my beliefs. It cannot be connected to anyone else.

I tried to make my happiness contingent on other people’s happiness, and I ended up miserable.

As it turns out that when my happiness is rooted in me and my lifestyle then I attract others who are also happy.

When my happiness is rooted in me and my lifestyle, I can affect other people’s moods.

Today I choose to be happy, joyful, and serene, because I love how I feel when I am just happy.

May each of you allow yourself the gift of true happiness.

You are Love and Loved.
