Spiritual growth.

I am reminded how my deepest spiritual growth occurred after I shared my most difficult secrets.

Some refer to it as confession of sins; others call it sharing of our defects of character.

I have come to see it as discussing my most important lessons.

In any case, when I have admitted how I got so far out of balance, I became willing to change my responses to life.

It was not so much the behaviors as it was the energy behind them.

It was the why behind my reactions to life that needed to be changed.

As difficult and painful as it was to first admit my behaviors it was one of the most freeing things I have ever done.

At the time I had an ego crushing experience which brought out anxiety, self-hatred, fear, depression, and even thoughts of suicide.

However, through many discussions with the therapist, my AA sponsor, attending meetings, and writing my daily meditations, I have come through the experiences with new Light, a new life and a deeper Love.

Today I hold deep appreciation for the Love that I call God for showing me my way to a deeper spiritual growth.

May each of you allow yourself to experience your spiritual growth.

You are Loved.
