No control

I am reminded how there are many things outside of me over which I have no control.

There are people, places, things, situations, institutions, and principalities over which I have no control.

I used to believe this was a very bad thing and I would try very hard to have control over things outside of me.

I felt fear, anxiety, resentment, and annoyance because I could not make anything outside of me behave as I thought they should.

Eventually I ran out of energy, and I broke down in defeat.

It was then I discovered one of the greatest gifts I could ever have, I have no control over anything outside of me.

I went from powerless to completely free.

I no longer needed to have control over the world around me.

I am allowed complete dominion over how I perceive the world and how I react to the world.

It is one of the most freeing and frightening things to realize I no longer need to control anything or anyone outside of me.

I am still learning how to let go of some of the people and situations outside of me, but I am making progress.

May each of you give yourself the gift of freedom from control over things outside of you.

You are Love and Loved.
