Changing your mood.

I am reminded how I get to shift my mood through simply becoming conscious of my breathing.

Nothing is more life affirming than breathing.

When I take the time to monitor my emotional state, I can identify when I am experiencing feelings or moods I do not prefer.

Nothing will change my moods as easily as concentrating on my breathing.

I appreciate using box breathing, this entails breathing in through the nose for a count of 4, hold for a count of 4, exhale through the mouth for a count of 4, and hold for a count of 4.
Repeat this at least 4 times.

This has been credited for slowing the heart rate, lowering blood pressure, and the slowing of thoughts.

This is the most basic of steps in self-care.

When I am focused on my breathing, I am in control of my thoughts, feelings, actions, and responses.

May each of you allow yourself the gift of self-care through controlling your breathing.

You are Love and Loved.
